hi there,
this is my first post on this forum.
i have a question about water-based woostain.
i have been trying in earnest to locate a producer of this item. i've been told (by a wattyl lab tech) that they dont have water-based in aus, we only have chemical-based.
apparently they only produce it in europe and other countries that have strict environmental laws.
he also told me that wattyl did have a range of water-based woodstains years ago, but it didnt gain much interest so they dropped it. i'm no expert on this, so i could be completely wrong.
the reason i'm after a water-based woodstain is for an artistic purpose. the specific product i was after came from the U.K. it was produced by a company called Sigma Kalon. they didnt export it to AUS. i tried to see if i could get it shipped here but that was economically prohibitive.
i dont really mind what brand of woodstain it is, just as long as they have a good colour range.
i hope there's somebody here who can help.
by the way, i live in melbourne.
