finish for chemically stripped oregon

I recently purchased 60 metres of old oregon arhitrave. It has been stripped by some chemical process ( some type of caustic bath) which has left the wood quite bleached. I have put a clear finish on a piece and it looks pretty insipid.

Any tips about how to finish? I thought of using proof tint diluted by fungisheild?
