View Full Version : Woodturner's dilemna

Tonight is my mate's turn to drive his car
with me as a passenger, to our woodturning club.

He did not go to the last session and is therefore
unaware that tonight we will be practising our
skills with the dreaded skew chisel.

He is absolutely petrified of the skew chisel.

Therefore do I tell him beforehand and perhaps
have to drive myself as he will refuse to go.

Do I tell him as we are driving there and stand
the risk of hitchhiking as he returns home, or

Do I wait till we get there and stand the chance
of getting a skew chisel thrown at me and have
to walk home anyway.

Tell him not to be a wuss. Skews are feared and
hated the world over.

My skews don't understand me but either but I battle
on anyway.

I dunno what all the fuss is about. There's nothing to fear about a Skew ChiDAMN!!... so long as you're careful about using 'em, a skewBUGGRIT... OK, they can be a little bit tricky, but a skAAARGH!

I trust that you're prepared to walk home? :B

Now Thursday the 5th and just finished walking home.
It is a fair way from Yarrambat to Wallan. On my
arrival the missus said, "Musta been a long meeting".

As for tips ... yeah, be nice to your Mum.:D
