Neil, I passed by a tool shop today and they had a Freud Industrial pro blade on the shelf that had been discounted by $60. Unfortunately it was not what I wanted but it got me thinking. This happens alot and with the new reno forum taking away all that side of the forum maybe there would be room for a bargains spotted section. I was thinking maybe a section that was limited to one thread for each state and people could just add a post on if they saw something that was reduced or in a chuck out bin that they did not need but thought it was a really good deal that someone else here may wish to look at. What do you reckon?

Just post it in the For Sale forum, and put the state in the title.

The point would be to have one thread for every state that you can easily check to see what bargains are where in your city/region if you need something, rather than creating a whole thread that people may not see beacuse they were not actually looking for something. You know how it is, you see something and think, "yeah I could do with one of those and at that price I reckon I will go have a look".

But Bob... Burnsey is an impulse tool buyer sorta like me... wanders around eyes mostly closed and suddenly there it is that one thing that WOW would be the ducks knuts for... well something... and at that price I must have it... NOW!!... and bein the kind hearted buggars we are we of course would want to share that info with our fellow woodnuts and woodboobs here... no good if the sales only on for a week HERE and you mob are over there... but a fellow forumite right here would likely go WHAT A BOTTLER! and bolt down and get one... for soemthing?

Another fine idea!! :2tsup:

But isn't this idea a further breakdown of what's already happening in Buy & Sell? :?

It sounds like committees within committees.

Good point, but don't throw away the baby etc.
My vote is for splitting the existing buy and sell by state (now the plea to indicate location is often disregarded) and including these "heads up" posts in the relevant state forum. Two birds with one stone.

Repeat after me, gentlemen:

* Less is more
* More is less

Less forums means more usable.

More forums means less usable.

We've just got rid of a whole pile of forums to return some sanity to the place, and hopefully drag more woodworking comment back into view.

Please don't start it all over again.

As to the original question, you just need to look under the persons name selling or wanting to buy to read where they're from. So why the need? :?

Patience people patience there's a big change coming that will make it all a lot less, whilst giving the possibility of much more yet still less.

All will be revealed sometime in the next week.... If I can get the bloody thing to work properly. Been playing in the back rooms for a week or so and it's getting closer by the day.

'cause not everyone is comfortable with themselves to state that they live anywhere other than in Orstralia. Maybe we need a therapy forum to help them get over whatever it is???
