hi everyone,
I am wanting to paint some melamine, but don't want to spend too much buying laminate paint etc. I do, however, have some white knight tile paint & primer. Could I use the primer on the melamine, then paint over with regular paint (I don't want to use the actual tile paint as it has a glossy finish, i want matt)?
Otherwise, is it possible to get away with painting melamine with normal paint? Maybe after roughing up a little?
Thanks :)
Michelle

Hi,
michelle, I am no expert at all but here is what we came across....
we want to paint a set of drawers that has veneer on it.
we found a product called ESP.
"easy surface prep" by Flood.
basically you wipe it on then wipe it off and it leaves a permanent bonding film on the surface so you can then paint over it 90 minutes later.
eliminates the need to sand
it says it works on basically any surface glass. metal, laminates etc
haven't tried it yet but sounds like good stuff!
purchased from Bunnings $18 for 500ml.

Hi Michelle, my mum used the ESP on her laminate cupboard doors. Came up a treat!
I have also just used it on metal door frames that needed a freshen up and it worked perfect!
Good luck
