Hi Guys
After ideas on repairing a dead plaster ceiling. The usual ornate plaster details with the usual sagging bits, some parts have become soft and very saggy. I don't need to force it up flat, just support it so it doesn't get any worse. I have some ideas of my own but wondered if anyone has any tried and proven method.

It depends a lot on why the ceiling is sagging to what methods are best used to either prevent further sagging or repairing.

It sounds like you have a fibrous plaster ceiling.

There are a number of threads on this board that have many suggestions for fixing and repairing sagging ceilings. Try this one http://www.woodworkforums.ubeaut.com.au/showthread.php?t=49940

Thanks Rod, I'll check it out. It's an 80 year old ceiling with tile roof and no sarking and near the beach. Mosture would be the most likely reason I would imagine. It has probably lasted quite well considering.
