View Full Version : To seal or not to seal render before painting

I finished a house renovation around 15 months ago with a cement rendered finish over brickwork. I now have time to paint - I intend using 2 coats of Dulux Weathershield

One person tells me I must use a sealer/undercoat plus 2 coats, the next person tells me I just need 2 coats of paint. Anyone know?

Regards

Check the Dulux site or supplier as many of their acrylic texture products require primer to reduce the effects of a fast absorbing medium.
In trade circles its called milking the walls. Its cheaper than paint too.
