Hi,
I was hoping that someone might be able to help...
We have sash windows that aren't working properly. We have taken off beading and located the pockets. We have now found that the weights won't fit through the weight pocket. I am thinking that perhaps someone used the wrong sized weights?!? All the windows that we have tried to access have been the same. The only option I can come up with is taking the architrave off and hoping for access from the side... Has anyone come across this before- is there another way of accessing the weights?
Any advice would be much appreciated.
Thanks,
Carcoola

You need to drop the weights to the bottom of the pocket and pull them out top first. You shouldn't need to destroy the window to get them out.

Thanks for the reply. At the moment they won't drop further as there is some kind of stop under the pocket that stops the weights from being lowered further than the bottom of the pocket. I will try to remove the stop and see if that works! That hadn't occurred to us before but sounds promising! Thanks again!

Removing the architrave will not help there is no access from the sides of the frame. Tools is right. There should be a clear space down to the sill.
