How can you tell if the merbau timber is
kiln dried or air dried??
I believe kiln dried is better
what is your view of timber below

kiln dried is dry to the touch and wont warp as quickly hence the way its stored in the pic, just tied with string ....air dried would probably come shrink wrapped to keep it moist and would feel slightly damp ....the merbu in the pic is kiln dried for sure, ....I seriously dont think $3.98 per meter is a great price though, and from phone calls I made today its no wonder some ppl have heart attacks ...some timber traders are taking advantage thats for sure...

now I know what kiln dried is

My deck will be 5.4M wide
Is it better to pay a bit more and get 5.7 m length boards
so no joints?
can get random length about $3.20-3.30 LM
5.7 at about $3.80-3.90 LM

Hi we have kiln dried, stain free 90mm merbau for $3.80lm in random lengths or set lengths to 5.7 for $4.30lm or 140 x 19 for $6.85lm at the moment. Please feel free to contact us on 1300 85 50 31 If we can be of any help.
