Does anyone know what started the slanging match between Russell Ingall and James Courtney on the weekend?
I have read that Ingall called Courtney a 'pretty boy' and Courtney returned fire with 'grumpy old man' but unsure as to what started it all.
Was Russell just flapping his gums as usual? or did James provoke him?

V8 VETERAN Russell Ingall has called former team-mate and Dancing with the Stars contestant James Courtney a "pretty boy who should crawl back into his hole".
On the eve of the blockbuster second round of the V8 Supercars series, Ingall last night lit the fuse for an explosive Eastern Creek encounter when he questioned Courtney's credentials and ability.
"He seems to like the Hollywood stuff more than the racing," Ingall said.
"I'm a racer, not a pretty boy. He just likes to get his head on TV. Pretty boy Courtney thinks he is pretty good."
Ingall's bitter words come after Courtney claimed he took over from the 149-start veteran as the lead driver for Stone Brothers racing last year.
Ingall has since left Stone Brothers and will today line up for the Super Cheap Auto team in his 150th top-flight race.
"Any driver can get in and mouth off," Ingall said.
"But you haven't got any credibility until you get some runs on the board.
"Where did he finish last year? Ninth in the championship. I would want to have a few more results until I thought I was an authority on motor racing.
"That goes for a couple of the drivers, not just him."
Ingall claimed Courtney was more worried about his role on Channel 7's hit show Dancing with the Stars than racing last year.
"Last year I was running around in a three-year-old car," Ingall said.
"He got the new one and all the attention. At the end of the day I was out-qualifying and out-racing him.
"He can come and see me when he's won a championship. He should crawl back into his hole."
But Courtney last night fired back, calling Ingall "a grumpy old man".
"I think he is just a bit upset they didn't pick him for Dancing with the Stars," Courtney said.
"I think I have the runs on the board and have achieved enough (to comment). I was behind him in Adelaide and he missed a gear and spun off the track.
"Russell is the last person I am worrying about it."
Courtney said the pair fell out when he was promoted to lead driver for Stone Brothers.
"I think when the team decided he wasn't the best driver and they got me to do it, it upset him," Courtney said.
"We were really good mates until he got upset with me. I am not sure why he was like that, but I think he wasn't getting enough attention in the races and is now trying to get it in other ways.
"As for him out-racing me, I think it was 10 to four in my favour."
Courtney defended his stint on Dancing with the Stars.
"It seems Russell had a problem with it but everyone else was supportive," Courtney said. "It was helping to promote the sport and was good for the championship's profile.
"I don't know why he had a problem with it, he is just a grumpy old man. My priority is and always will be racing."
Qualifying kicks off at 12.50 today with race one tomorrow.
Ingall is confident of a good showing over the weekend.
"Ford cars handle well on long, fast circuits," Ingall said.

Thanks BM.
Had read everything but "Ingall's bitter words come after Courtney claimed he took over from the 149-start veteran as the lead driver for Stone Brothers racing last year".
Cheers for that.

Sadly madrat, it's all a bit like World Series Wrestling these days, with little dummy spits and bad guys and good guys and pretty boys and rough nuts.
The only thing Holden and Ford in the things apart from the body tub is the bonnet badge and the engine block, all other components are identical purpose built race bits.
It's just a bit of showbiz. The sooner GM and Ford go bust (give them five years) the sooner we'll see real brand rivalry again. But it might be Minis vs Cortinas.
Cheers,
P

A Ford Man all my life. Call it as I see it mind you these two are not the only tossers. Just noticed Bitingmidge's post. I have been watching the "car" s since the days of the Mini's and the Cortina's and the Harry Firths of that industry. Have to agree with Midge's statement there is not much that is Ford or Holden in the supercars. They have been a good spectacle to watch for a lot of years.
