What's the best way to strip veneered furniture? Our kitchen table needs doing badly. I am 99% sure the top is veneer applied to plywood. Is normal stripper safe enough? Should I be sanding instead? Ideas?

Thanks

I've used regular paint stripper on veneered timber plenty of times with no adverse affects.

What Niel said.
Dont be tempted to sand it.
modern veneer is very thin and its easy to sand right through it.

But don't forget to neutralise the effects of the paint stripper by cleaning it afterwards with metho.
