Hi all,
My wife & i own a western red ceder pole house that was oil treated externally around 10 years ago (previous previous owners) & is now desperate for a new treatment. The exterior has gone grey in places that cop a lot of sun & weather & a dark brown to almost black in other areas. i've included a pic of the typical exterior of our house.

I am just about to redo the exterior & i'm thinking seriously of using Wattyl Deck & Exterior timber stain.
Has anybody had any good or bad results with this product?
Naturally the wood will need to be cleaned down throughly first, i was planing to use Wattyl Exterior timber cleaner & a pressure cleaner to do the job.

I'm a complete newbe to painting but i do have a mate who does a lot of painting indoors & out coming to help but hes never used the product before.
Any advice u guys have will be well appreceated. :2tsup:

well i had a couple of hours free yesterday so i thought i'd dig out a 1L bottle of deckswood timber cleaner that i bought as a trial a yr ago. I mixed the product at the 4:1 ratio recomended for normal cleaning then brushed it on & scrubbed with a brush then left for the minimum 30mins recomended. I then hit it with a pressure cleaner & the pics show the results.
I think i'll need to mix up the deckswood or similar product to a stronger mix - 1:1 recomended by deckswood for stubborn stains.
just a little more info, these are supposed to be western cedar boards that have been rough cut & not sanded to a fine finish.
