All of the flooring and some of the framework for my outdoor, uncovered decking needs replacing this year. I would be able to start work on it in a couple of months but was wondering if late autumn/early winter would be the wrong time to do this work, due to possible rain and the timber not having time to dry out properly before being oiled. This job is getting a bit urgent as the timber is in poor condition but I dont want to mess up the job or do harm to the timber by doing it at the wrong time of the year.

Hi paws, what timber are you going to use.

Merbau likes to be seasoned before finishing so it would be fine to put down and leave.

I used yellow belau and it was :) to be oiled straight up.

Just make sure that whatever you buy is used immediately or stored correctly otherwise it will warp on you. There is no reason of course that you cant oil it in the garage and put down as you get time.
