I'm asking you all... Why did you choose the forum name that you did?

FunkyChicken was my nickname given to me by one of my young friends...At the Turnout I seemed to gain the name, "Feathered One"

There's an old thread on this topic, but just as well to re-start.

I use my real name because it's easier to remember than any clever moniker I might cook up. Hard enough to remember my password.

Incoming!
9th March 2008, 09:37 AM
The way I handle tools is apparently quite scary, according to those who watch, resulting in loud warning cries of "Incoming!" every time I pick up something sharp. I think they're just teasing ....

My main thing is pottery and making teapots. So confronted with logging on questions ....um....... Also a slight dig at the blokey dominated environment. What else would a girl in the shed be doing but bringing the tea?

Initially, it was because I thought I was a rather good looking chick magnet, but it turns out not to be the case, or so SWMBO reckons.
The truth is, I like to buy tools. I really don't care what they are, as long as they look pretty...the tools of course. ( I actually use them sometimes too!!!)

Koala-Man
11th March 2008, 06:04 PM
My daughters think I look like a Koala.

Apart from the fact that I'm short, have grey hair, am just very slightly overweight and like to lie around all day the description is completely inaccurate.

Gaz.

The Bleeder
25th March 2008, 03:35 PM
Most would think it's because i tried to make a sixth finger....

no i got my name in the eighties when you worked hard and partied even harder (all nite till the sun rose the next day).

There was a movie going round called 'Dances with Wolves' (that was his Indian name) so one of the guys who was into giving everyone Indian names saw me come to work in morning after a really big night out and the quote was ...'Bleeds thru eyes after big nite out' and so it stuck. Then they started showing 'respect' by calling me 'The Bleeder'.

The guy who gave me the name is 'Falls' ...'falls off barstools when '.

I only just read this post today. I'm telling you Artme that I'm truly hopeless at cleaning. Just ask Hubby. And if I put away your tools you will never ever find them.:D

Also, I thought you were a girl for a while. I just thought Artme sounded girl like. Not after I read some of your posts though. So I wasn't under the delusion for long.:p

Doughboy
26th March 2008, 10:31 AM
As an apprentice the whole kitchen team was making hot cross buns, 100 dozen to be precise and I was in control of making the dough.

One of the chefs would say 'where is the dough, boy?' and as they say it has stuck.

Not a bad nickname for a chef either

Mine is a nickname given to me by a mate. Play on words sort of thing.

The abbreviations that have applied to me in my professional life, combined.

Chumley
26th March 2008, 11:29 AM
Mine is an abbreviation of Cholmondeley - a character in a Gerald Durrell book I have - Chumley was a chimpanzee (rather an amazing one), my family reckon I spend my time monkeying around in the garage, so...

Cheers,
Adam

PS, I lasted about a week before I forgot to sign off as Chumley, so now I'm just Adam
