From what I have read, I understand I need to apply a sealer/binder before painting the new gyprock ceiling. Can anybody tell me if it should be oil based as opposed to water. I love water based for ease of cleanup, but if oil is the recommended way I am prepared to use it.

Any recommendations from the Dulux product range (the trade center is a couple hundred meters down the road).

Rollers. Any suggestions regardng the nap length in mm that you would recommond. I also have a chance to prime/seal the ceiling before my plaster comes back to put the cornices up, which I thought might save me the time cutting in.

I would imagine the plasterer would be off with you as there would be every possibility the paint will inhibit adhesion of the cornice cement and therefore future failure. So DON'T paint beforehand.

dulux acrylic sealer , and NEVER start any painting until the plasterer has finished...you can seal the plaster before any skirting and trim goes on...that will save a lot of time
