Is Timbecon still trading or just going through a rough patch?

I placed an order on Jan 30, item dispatched in a few days with a tracking number that didn't exist with the carrier.

Received reply to email stating that order had really been shipped. Since then all emails to timbecon people and generic "sales" have had delivery problems and some even fail to be delivered. This could simply be ISP issues and not their fault. Tried the phone number but got no answer, maybe because everyone else is ringing up.

It's now Feb 21 (3 weeks) and still no delivery or response.

This is the first Timbecon order that I've had delivery problems with. It's also by far the smallest order I've placed with them ($28.50).

Is anyone else having issues with delivery or email or phone with Timbecon?

I placed an order with them early February. Received goods within about 3 days.

Ordered some items form their sale in late Jan 2008, arrived in 4 or 5 days.

Looks like I have experienced bad luck all around for this order.

Finally got a response from Timbecon. They will re-ship the order, as it obviously went AWOL.

Their couriers are great, it's just Aus post that's flakey from Perth.

Unlucky me.... they sent the replacement by Aus post. Hope this has better luck than the first one.

AP are an easy target for those with slack service. You said it already, the tracking number didn't exist.

We send thousands of letters and a reasonable number of parcels every year via Aussie Post, there is very little that ever seems to go missing and even with the few that do it is more often someone already having trouble with kids or whatever getting to the mail first. I'd bag the posty last, but it could be incorrectly delivered to someone else, I hope they put it to good use if its not passed on.:wink:

I've had no prob with Timbecon last few years. Before that was a different story.

That said, any human action is subject to error.

Imagine say 1% as an acceptable rate which is actually very good IMO.

Given the number of orders they process some of them are going to go west.

So that's the problem... it should have gone east...
Maybe it's taking a round the world holiday first.

Looks like the replacement may have joined the first, as it too hasn't arrived by express post.

I'll wait a few more days then I'll give up and cancel the order.

All other deliveries in Feb from SA, VIC and QLD have all arrived safe (Aus post and three different couriers)

It turns out the Timbecon has an invisible extra database in the dispatch area that doesn't get updated when you change your address. So even if the order billing and delivery addresses are correct, they still send it to your old address.

Helpful hint to others.
If you change your address with Timbecon, then on your next order remind them of the address change in the order comments box. This may avoid missing parcels.

PS. Now they expect me to find the parcels by going to my old address. This may be my quickest option, but it's a long weekend now. As I said earlier, at least it's only a small $28 order.

You're kidding? If you've done the right thing by putting in the change of address, and its their database thats not up to scratch, I know what I'd be telling them!!

Would they expect you to go to your old address if you had moved a decent distance?

Thats very poor customer service. They should wait (hope) the other one is returned and ship a new order immediately!

Express Post if not delivered to the addressee and providing everyone does their job correctly will be returned to the sender by ordinary parcel or mail standards, I would expect the whole process to take a week. It is Timbercons stuff up. let them sort it out. What if you had moved to Perth? They really can't be serious.:!

He could have gone to the shop and picked it up from there :D

I placed an order on Friday afternoon and it was waiting for me this morning (Monday) when I opened up at work - where I get all my deliveries sent to for security reasons.

I've ordered gear from them thats taken 6 mths to arrive... too my surprise as I'd completely forgotten about it!
But in saying that I've had the same problems from 2 other bigger WW shops... the WW sales industry needs a shake up every now and then.
