Hi ,
I hope this is in the right place. I am looking for a link to a school for troubled teenagers which I saw on the forum. I think it was someones signature link. I think the students helped build the school . I think the head teacher spent time in Italy with their schools for reasearch.
I can't remember what state its in but I think it was Victoria ?
Thanks in advance,
Graham.

hi graham this is a bit of a old theard but if you are still around
we run programs in schools for disingauged teenagers it is where we take the kids out of the class for a day some times more in the week .WE do real hand on stuff like biulding a class room ,seats ,cooking and playing footy with them ,
l see you live in QLD the only program at the moment is at the cape but the QLD goverment seemed happy to set up more schools
l think the best thing you could do is ask your local school if a programe like ours could start up and get behind it to push it though .
l couldn't tell if this is your son by the 1st post if so he is probably looking for a role model ,better you than anybody, start makeing things together and dont worry if it a bit wonky, time is what they need but it has to be the time when they wont it
hope this was helpful

Personally, I would suggest Turning Winds Academic Institute which is located in Northwestern Montana. Turning Winds Academic Institute is one of the top schools in the industry because of their recognized achievement in helping teens both behaviorally and academically.
Sounds like a bloody good idea! Lets send all of our "troubled" brats to the US, they will just fatten 'em up and let 'em do "whatever".

Graham,
I feel for you. I've been struggling to keep mine on the rails as well.
I send my daughter to St James in the city. We live close to Lota train station so that makes it easier for us.
St James has kids with all sorts of backgrounds and they cater for kids that don't fit into the regular school system. My daughter struggled in regular schools and has managed to find a niche for herself at St James.
Whether St James is the right school for your child I can't say but they are worth looking into.
Good luck.

For anyone looking in WA, there's Corridors College in Midland WA for youth at risk.. Small school, kids mostly actually love it! One 2010 student travelled from Mandurah (check google maps). AISWA could probably help finding others across Oz.
