http://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/

A new web system by the British BBC.

you can select tv programs to watch that have been screen over the past 7 days.

There is also a free software program that allows you to save the program to harddrive for upto 30 days.

So you can watch upto 4 different British BBC channels all without commercial advertising.

Enjoy.

Good idea John but it only lets people in the UK watch it. The technology built into it looks at where your ISP is and if it isn't in the UK it spits you out.

Thats a shame Bazza. you will have to continue watching your own screen and await export of our programs by the BBC.

Or I could always send you and hour or two long download from my harddrive:D

Thanks but I think I will just watch our ABC. A download like that would just blow my download limit then I wouldn't be able to log onto the WWF.

I am sure it has to do with being available to rate payers only. I get BBC America on cable, but it's the dregs except for the news programmes.

I suppose I could always allow my computer to accessible? :)

But I suspect when there is enough demand for this broadband watching the servers will then reduce our 100% download time and start charging uk users for usage on line like other parts of the world.

We have been getting some nice stuff on the BBC lately, they have been revamping some of the old classics of Shakespere,Chaucer etc. and creating modern 21 century themes on those old ideas.

Have you had any of that stuff yet?

Find a fast UK proxy (there's a list in the computer forum), get on via the proxy, use FairUse4WM to strip the copy protection from your copy so that you don't have to worry about the 30 day limit, and BBC's your Uncle (which makes ABC your Auntie, I guess).
