In a country (not far from here), a new Government has just been elected.

Apparently (so I'm told)..... of the new members of parliament voted in, 90% are lame, 85% are deaf, 80% are blind and 75% are dumb.

What percentage at least must be lame, deaf, blind and dumb?

Since 90% are lame, 10% are not lame.
Even allowing all of these to be deaf, there is an overlap of 75% at least, who must be lame and deaf.

Similarly between these and the blind there is an overlap of 80-25 or 55% who must be lame, deaf and blind.

Finally the overlap of these with the 75% dumb gives us 75-45 or 30% at least, who must be lame, deaf, blind and dumb.

And I'll leave it there.

Up to 35% can be either lame or dumb but not both; similarly, up to 35% can be either deaf or blind but not both. Which means that the minimum amount who can be all four is 30%

So I agree with Greg. :)

30% must be deaf blind lame and dumb
75% could be deaf blind lame and dumb

For every 100 pepole
25 are not dumb
20 are not blind
15 are not Deaf
10 are not blind

thus
70 ( max ) could be not deaf blind lame and dumb
25 ( min ) could be not deaf blind lame and dumb
