Removing Ink Stain

G,Day All,
The SWMBO has been asked by a friend to restore the finish on an old Blackwood coffee table. The table does not have a great monetary value but a great sentimenlal value to its owner.
Now the question:- There is a blue ink stain on the table top and the better half would like to Remove or fade it if possible!
Does any one have any ideas, we are going to try some white spirit but any other suggestions would be appreciated.
I don't think we can remove the stain completely as it has penetrated a fair bit but was wondering if we might be able to reduce the color.

bleach it out with oxalic acid or nappysan
place a cotton ball over the stain right to the edges.
dribble enough of the above to soak the pad without it spilling over the edges
leave for a few miniuts and take a peep.

To add to Astrids method, mask off the rest of the table top then you'll be able to wipe/scrub it and reapply several times without spreading the ink over the rest.

I'm hoping to hitch a ride on this thread as I too have to get an ink stain out of a veneered mahogany table top.
So I can use nappisan as a bleach but what is a good neutralising agent to use once the bleach has done its work - I plan to bleach out the stain to an acceptable amount but then stop the bleach having any more effect so as to minimise damage to the wood fibres.
Given that the top is veneer, I'd like to avoid flooding it with water.

If you are using the cotton ball spot removing technique,
just sponge it off the spot with water.
If its just spots your removing, i wouldnt wash the whole table with bleach, you'll lighten bits you dont want to
