cheap shed options?

am looking for a cheap shed that is about 1.5m buy 1.5m, probably looking for a kit style option

That size sounds just like a high top van. Why not go down the breakers yard and drive one back.:D

seriously .....you may want to rethink the size .....small sheds cost more than the "normal" sized ones 1.8 x 1.37 is around about "normal" size ..and priced well too....try looking in the trading post for one second hand ....or new ...bunnies have a discount on them from time to time ....and you can never have to much space ......to store stuff in :2tsup:

Most hardware stores have kit toy-sized sheds or Stratco, Yellow pages etc.

Remember you only get what you pay for. I have seen ultra el-cheapo tiny garden sheds virtually blow apart in strong winds so tie it down unless you want to collect it from up a tree.

picked one up from bunnings, $250 for a 1.5 x 1.5 x 2 i wont be working in it, this is purely for storage purposes

well if your going to store stuff in it, you may as well make it secure while your at it .....lay a concrete foundation to sit it on at least 75mm thick.....mark out and measure with a string line where the base of the frame is going to sit and while the concrete is still wet poke some bolts in thread facing upwards ....when it sets it is just a matter of lining up the base with the bolts, marking out and drilling a hole ......slip the panel in place and bolt it down ....simple and very effective :2tsup:

Or if you are going to have pavers or dirt floor use several long tent hold down hooks hammered well into the ground.

In my first place I picked up a cheap second hand shed for storage and rather than lay a slab dug in bits of a demolished brick fence for the perimiter and bolted/tied it to that. Worked fine in the strongest winds - but then I get a kick out of reusing stuff.

I have had to fish one out of an inground pool. It blew over in the storm (was a rental property), and ended upside down in the pool. Being upside down it was too heavy to lift - and couldnt get a good grip on it. Ended up snorkelling with a screwdriver and dismantling the shed underwater.:2tsup:

its a bit hard to explain, but basically i just dynabolted it to the floor with some brackets, however i used a slab that was already there, so it doesn't quite fit. There is about 10 inches of the shed sitting over soil.

I have propped it up on some bricks to save it from sitting in water.

I am not to worried about it blowing away it is setting next to a 2m fence, in the corner so there is a good wind barrier.

Eventually when i get some shelving in there i will secure that to both shed and floor, should be rock solid then.
