Problem with Dulux Aquanamel bubbling

We painted doors, architraves, etc with Dulux Aquanamel back in April 2007. Now that it's summer and hitting temperatures of 40+, we are noticing that the paint is bubbling up in places. The paint feels quite soft and spongy where it has bubbled Is this a known problem with this paint? What can we do to fix it? The woodwork was sanded and prepped with Dulux prep coat.

I have used a fair bit of aquaenamel - sometimes it will bubble if there is moisture or gas trapped underneath it. Unlike usual acrylic Aqua Enamel wont let gases out from underneath. If oil based primers are used and topcoated while they are still gassing off you can get problems.

I would suggest in your case that the high temperature is evaporating something in the undercoats or maybe even within the timber and it is trying to escape.

I have done a fair bit of painting around about the same time as you, also with Aquaenamel. I hadn't noticed any issues on my place, however I'm going home to have a closer check!

I don't have air con so we have definately seen the recent melbourne heat inside too. All the items I painted were pre-primed off the shelf, so I didn't use an undercoat.
