Please message me from the forum or use my email is you have a vacuum pump that I can hire, borrow, or buy. :D:D Need it for a week or so to do a couple of jobs.
It needs to be the fridge vacuum type used to remove air and moisture from the pipes.

BTW I am in Mornington area near Melbourne, Vic.
(If anyone knows where these can be hired I would like to know.)

When we used to fix fridges (welding up up the defrost knife holes :) ) , we just used an ordinary vacuum cleaner. Though the fridge service guys who we fixed the holes for probably had a proper tool before re-gassing.

Get hold of a compressor unit out of an old fridge. Find the suction line and solder a fitting on to it

Obviously the previous two replies are not serious.

Neither a vacuum cleaner or a compressor will pull down to the minimum 1000 micron (bare minimum) vacuum let alone sub 150 micron for a clean system.

Give your nearest Actrol or Heatcraft branch a yell, quite often they have a loaner vac pump to hire for a few bucks.
