Hi Guys

Im in the planning stages for building a double garage (5.9m x 6m) on an existing slab next to my house. The new garage will share the wall with the side of the house. I will attempt to integrate the new garage with the roof over the verandah.

The old carport and front gates will be removed. The front of the garage will be built on the front boundary in line with the front of the house. Please see picture below.

The style of garage Im looking to build is shown below.

A few questions;

1. The current slab is 125mm thick and reinforced with steel. The slab is not piered! Will this slab require piering, at least along the outside wall before I will get an engineer to sign off on it?

2. If anybody has some plans they can forward me, for a similar project they may have done, I would be most grateful.

Any ideas or advice would be great.
cheers

probably, but would depend on how you are going to do the walls, you need to talk to someone who does the permits.
