I guess t is Trades Assistant for Im taking a wild guess here for the
Austrailian Rail and Track Corporation which trades under the ARTC logo
during my time I came out as an Electrical Fitter Mechanic since then they have divied up the trades you can no longer hold both you are either a electrical fitter or an electrical mechanic

Go for the mechanic John,
There are limited employment opportunities for a fitter now days.

Patty,
I understand that up here,
they still come out with a F/M Ticket if they have done the work.
Then we are 10 years behind:(

go the mechanic
it's what the normal sparkie comes out as, and there is much more work around for it.
oh, and i think TRA is trades recognition australia... that's without looking at the link, so it may be wrong

I'M confused
I think what TRA (Trades Recognition Australia) is asking what is your current trade.
As PATTY is saying you can only have one NOT both.
As far as I am aware both trade don't exist anymore
They did away with Electrical Fitters many years ago (just after they did away with Armature Winders)
They recently changed from Electrical Mechanics to Licensed Electricians.
They even changed the final exam that the Apprentice had to sit from LEM (License Electrical Mechanic) to LEA (License Electrical Assessment)
It was a bit Confusing for a while as my license went form "A"grade Electrical Mechanic to "E"class Electrical Mechanic to "E"Class Electrical License to "A" Class Electrical License.
I believe this was to pull Vic in-line with the rest of Australia (thats what we where told)
JOHN999 I suggest you contact the 2 links as I previously suggested whey should know what your current qualifications are equivalency too
In any case I assume you will have to sit the LEA exam in which case I suggest you contact TAFE and do a LEA refresher course.
