I just bought a great pair of Fiskars grass shears from bunnies. Sort of pricey, but you can use them standing and adjust the angle of the blades. Great for reaching into beds and around shrubs and stuff. Not as speedy as a whipper snipper, but you can hear the birds while you're clipping, no petrol to buy, transport, fill, clean up, etc. They never run out of batteries either. You can cut corners, they just aren't super fast.

How do you get it to cut right in the corner with a whipper sniper?
I find the cord just hits the wall and bounces past, leaving about 5 to 10 stands of grass.

Tilt it up at an angle into the corner. Come from the left and the right. Voila. But I think Round Up is still the best suggestion. :D

round up is so short term though, concrete curves are the way to go :)

Run the mower around.
Mark a line 50mm from the cut edge into the cut area.
Dig out the to the line in the uncut bit and backfill with concrete.:;
