plank top trestle table

Hi
I have a baltic pine plank-top trestle table. Can I use linseed oil mixed with gum turpentine as a finish or will this make it too dark? It will be used on a covered verandah - any suggestions?

G'day Jane - Welcome to the Bulletin Board. I think I'd give Organoil a try for this one. http://www.organoil.com.au/ Should do the job nicely and will afford much more protection for outside use.
