Allan and his wife lived far out in the sticks and after many years decided to move to a place far away called Wallan. Now in those days the mode of transport in that part of the world was horses.

So Allan started out on the long trip to Wallan on horseback and his wife carrying all the goods she could, walked behind the horse.

Allan rode for three days and nights and his wife walked wearily but faithfully behind him, sometimes stumbling under the heavy load she was carrying.

On the fourth day, Allan came upon another traveller, Barry. Barry was pleased to see Allan and was told how far they had travelled with Allan on horseback and the poor Mrs Allan walking behind.

Barry became a bit annoyed, being the gentleman that he was and he asked Allan, "How come your wife is walking behind you carrying all that gear while you are riding in comfort on your horse?"

Allan pondered the question for a moment and replied indignantly, "Because, my friend, we are a poor family and my wife does not have a horse"

I suppose that she never stopped talking
along the way .... so much so that she became
a little hoarse. She could have loaded her gear
on to the horse and made things a little easier.

Gotta teach that woman to think one day.:D
