Can someone advise me on the best place for price to purchase this product in melbourne? So far have found it for $217 for 10ltr tin. Is this the norm? Also what sort of coverage do you get. I have 30sqm of deck.

Hi uwish,

I just purchased 10lt's of Spa N Deck on Friday from Velvet Paints in Oakleigh. Only cost me about $145 as opposed to $200 from Bunnings. This is the cheapest paint place I've seen. Also priced some Dulux texture coat for $97 as opposed to $125 from Bunnings. The only drawback is that they don't give out prices over the phone.

GR Sporto,
Welcome.
What tint of Spa n Deck did you get and -
Once you've applied it post a pic or two so we can see the result. I'm after as red a color as possible normally found in pool magazines next to very light sandstone pavers.

Cheers,
Dr - 307.

Hi Dr 307,

I really wasn't sure what to get as the differences between Sedona, Redwood and Cedar seemed very subtle. In the end I opted for Redwood. I will upload some photos when I finish staining. At the moment I'm waiting for another great rain so that I can give the deck its third clean with napisan.

Sporto,
Did Velvet Paints have sample boards in store?

Hi,

Yes they had a sample board. But once again there were only subtle variations.

If your using napisan with spa n deck do you still need to use there prep and clean solution etc before the actual stain?

the napisan is in replacement of the prep and clean solution. However you will find the prep and clean solution stronger than the napisan.
Cheers.

Utemad told me to only use the Spa n Deck wash / cleaning solutions when using Spa n Deck. That's what I will do.

Yeah I know. The Deck wash stuff is much better than napisan. And you only have to do it once in most occasions.
You can use the spa n deck wash just on its own and use a different cleaner however. Its no big deal.
