Was at the 4wd show here in Perth over the weekend.

One of the exhibitors was Krinner Ground Screws http://www.gscrew.com/ (http://www.gscrew.com/) . Has anybody used them? I recon they'd be mickey mouse grouse.

I plan on extending the deck of my alfresco area within the next 12mths and I'll be seriously looking at these for the footing/post to sit the bearer/s on.

Something else they that I can see potential with is as a ground anchor in vehicle (4WD) winch recovery operations, instead of using the star picket or digging a hole to bury the tyre methods, which are strenuous operations.

I sent them an email to enquire a few months ago when I started my deck but didnt get a reply so shovel and crow bar it was for me.

I've used something like Enviropost (http://www.enviropost.com.au/)in the uk, mainly for repairing rotten fence posts, and will probably use them for my carport.

I sent an email to find out the cost and was told about $20 for the smallest one, which is gotta work out cheaper than hours of hard digging, plus the cost of concrete etc.

They sell a sort of block which goes in the top of the spike and then you can hit it with a sledgehammer Have a look here (http://www.enviropost.com.au/metalpostanchors_installation.php).
