Never. Sausages only need pricking if they've got too much water in them. If you buy decent sausages, they don't need pricking.
Hmmm.... Sausages....:licklips:

Absolutely - I'd be more likely to shaft the butcher if he sold me snags that needed pricking - not that he ever would.

Imagine how I felt years ago when I was having a vasectomy. The Doctor got the needle ready and said.
"This wont hurt - just a little prick"

No sausage pricking here, because when I'm cooking sausages it's usually south african borewors. You don't prick those.
I cooked some aussie snags last night and half of the buggers split. Should've pricked them.

Don't need to prick them as I usually slice them down the length soon after they firm up on the plate and we then have "butterfly" sausages.

I do not PRICK my Sausage:oo:
What I do do
is to Boil them before use,
This gives me some Stock for other use.:D
On the other hand,
if they are "Wurst" type:2tsup:
I NEVER Boil OR Prick 'em.
