Hi

I am thinking of getting a retaining wall done, paving, grass and retic etc.
Anyone know of a reliable and quality landscaping company in Perth that I could get quotes from.

If anyone in Perth has any experience with any, that would be great.

I am NOR.

Thanks

Hi Arry

I used the Garden Gnome a couple of years ago front and back yards of new house. spa fence / paving / retic / roll on etc. the lot. He was really good and reasonably priced. I do not have his ph. no. handy. check the yellow pages. I can have a look in the old files if you cannot find it.

Chances of getting anyone now for a full landscape as you are wanting are pretty slim pre-Christmas. You will find most people with any reputation were booked up months ago. You are best to wait till the new year if you are not in a rush.

I got a quote from one company and they reckon they can get it done before Christmas. Everything looks great etc but is a little pricry and I don't have anything to compare it to.

Arry, landscapes that I was doing four years ago for $7500 are now pricing out close to $20000. The boom has had a massive impact on labour costs, especially skilled labour. Most skilled trades are looking for anywhere from $30 to $50 per hour if they are supplying tools and machinery. Add to that the cost of insurance and workers comp and business owners end up charging out their experienced guys that they can trust to leave on site and do the job right for upwards of $500 per day.

My recommendation is to try and get another quote from a reputable firm to compare it but don't waste any time if you want it finished before Christmas. It is not just labour but materials that hold up at this time of year. I have a half finished block wall in North Beach that can not be finished till January as that is when the next block manufacture run is scheduled for the type and colour blocks I need.

Sorry I can't recommend any names as both guys I am still in contact with in the game are booked solid.
