Reminds me of the dude who owned a Merc that was sideswiped.
There was a note under his wiper that read: "The people watching me believe that I'm leaving you my name and number, but you and I know better don't we."

I saw this very thing happen once, but took note of the offending bimbo's registration number. When she took off, I checked her note, which said "Oops, I scratched your car!" followed by a little smiley face. I left a note on the car noting her registration details, not to mention my details as a witness. I scored a nice bottle of wine out of it!!
Recently, at Bunnings, as we were leaving, I saw a woman run her trolley all the way down the side of a car. I watched, and when I saw her get into the car NEXT to it, I asked my partner to stop so I could confront her. His response was "you're not the police - what are you going to do?". The very next week, our car got doored. That's karma. I wish I'd confronted her.
No-one ever touched my 10 year old car when I had it. I've had my brand newie for 3 years and have only contributed to one small scratch myself, unlike the various others contributed by others.

A few workmates and myself saw a Mercedes backed into in the car park behind work about 10 years ago. It had a broken headlight, blinker assembly and grill. The person who did it just drove away so I took rego and details of car.
I left a note under wiper of damaged car directing the owner to my office, and when she came enquiring, she was livid. Gave me a payout about the damage to her car and what an idiot I was, what am I going to do about it etc. Let her go on for about 5 minutes putting on a big show before I let her know that it wasn't me that did it, but that I had the details of who did....and now she wasn't going to get them.:((
Next day her husband comes in, same sort of attitude and wanting details. When I told him no as well he threatened to go to the police. Told him to get stuffed as well.
Following day, Police turn up, but unfortunately I had "thrown" details away and "couldn't recall" what they were.
If they had of been nice, wouldn't have been $2000+ out of pocket, would have had the details and been able to chase up offender. He doesn't know how lucky he was to get away with it.

A mate of mine had his car damaged in a carpark and instead of the note above he had a note with the name and address of the alledged offender. Turned out to be the name and address of a totally innocent guy who didn't even drive.
