i am making an table and need a finish that will last outdoors. i like a glossy finish not an oil and anyone tell me what is good for this.
i have been using wattle 2 pack flor varnish but am not sure weather it will last out doors.

A layer or two of West system epoxy to seal the timbers against moisture, and then 3 odd coats of marine varnish to protect the epoxy against UV.
Be prepared to scuff sand and re-varnish every 2-4 years depending on how much exposure they get, and that should keep the sort of gloss you are after.
