What is the best option for concrete disposal, particularly in Canberra?
I've lifted and smashed a concrete path that ran across the front of the house, and now i've got a decent pile of concrete that I must dispose of.
There must be a better option that carting it in multiple loads to the tip. Recycling services?

You could create a mound and various raised garden beds. The concrete can form the base and when topped with soil and planted out will provide visual interest in the garden.
Much easier then getting rid of it and is what I did with old bricks from a demolished garden wall. :D

There are places that recycle concrete, and they usually take it for free. In Melbourne we have places like Alex Fraser and Delta. They crush the concrete and brick and resell it as fill.Look in the phone book under concrete recyclers.

Or get creative.
Mound up the broken concrete.
Soak up a sheet of fibreglass in resin and lay over the top. Repeat half a dozen times. On the last sheet, make it super sticky and add some peat moss, sand, fine gravels etc.
You now have a brilliant "rock" feature in your garden.

P.s. There are plenty of recyclers that will take it for a small fee of course.
