View Full Version : protecting power cables from heat

Hi all,

I am replacing a disintegrated wood stove with a combustion heater that i managed to get hold of 2nd hand. The Heater has a built in electric fan which appeals to me as it is to go into a rendered brick recess, and the fan will help push the heat out into the room.

I am concerned about the power cable getting very hot with all the heat from the fire, and reflecting off the masonry. I am assuming i should perhaps mount the whole thing on cement sheeting and run the power cord out underneath. Is this the best solution?

I would be interested to hear from anyone with better/alternative ideas.

Thanks
JH
