Thanks for the poster who alerted me to my need to track down the products used for the floor finishing!

The products are

Bona (Waterbase)

and

Unithane (Solvent)

I hope these help!

Anyway - what I was after was a guide as to how these products compare in terms of

* what types are available (gloss, matt etc etc)
* how they wear
* whether they change the colour of the wood / darken / tint etc
* ongoigng maintenance / buffing etc!
* environmental impacts
* overall quality

It is a brand new house so don't need to worry about smell too much as I can just wait before moving in.

Thanks for the poster who alerted me to my need to track down the products used for the floor finishing!

The products are

Bona (Waterbase)Good Product. Trust worthy

and

Unithane (Solvent) Toby unithane is a fine product Good and trustworthy
I hope these help!

Anyway - what I was after was a guide as to how these products compare in terms of

* what types are available (gloss, matt etc etc)Gloss , semi gloss. satin
* how they wear Unithane would possibly wear better. Depends on which Bonakemi Product range he is offering.
* whether they change the colour of the wood / darken / tint etcWater bourne will retain a lighter timber colour rather than Solvent Poly.
* ongoigng maintenance / buffing etc!Regular vacumm, no buffing.
* environmental impacts.During curing , solvent is toxic requiring resperators. After curing every thing is fine. Water bourne is user friendly.
* overall quality I prefer water bourne , The timber presents itself better with water bourne applied.

It is a brand new house so don't need to worry about smell too much as I can just wait before moving in.
