Hi all,
I am making a box from Tassie Oak with a comparatively light blackwood veneer set into the lid (I wanted a bit of contrast, but went for a lighter piece of blackwood).
Looking for a fairly simple finish to put on it that will work with both woods. I have no particular finish in mind, however for this box probably doesn't need to be particularly glossy.
I'm thinking simply a couple of thin coats of ubeaut sanding sealer followed by a couple of buffed coats of trad wax (maybe Gilly's cabinet wax) over the top.
Can anyone see a flaw in this fairly simple plan?
Can't put pics in yet because, well - it ain't made!
Thanks in advance,
sCORCH
