John had just started as a new reporter at the Munruben Crier. The Crier was a small paper and nothing much happened there anyway. Munruben was so quiet the Crier printed the crossword on the front page.
Anyway, the editor had sent John to interview old Mrs Wallen who had just turned 90 and had lived there all her life - so far.
As a final question, John asked Mrs Wallen if she had ever been bedridden.
She replied, "Of course I have but surely you aren't going to print that?"

Hi Barry,
I used to know the bloke that compiled the crossword
puzzle for the Munruben Crier. He died last week and
they buried him ten down and four across.

John was a born journo. He had two scoops on his very first day - one chocolate and one vanilla.
