Hi all

Has anyone else come across this type of skirting. It is in a 70s unit and there is no skirting board(Wood) as such but a (looks a plastic/rubber piece glued to the bottom of the wall around the bottom of the walls.

With a limited budget just wondering if i could paint over this and have a all one colour right to the floor and whether the paint will take to this skirting strip.

Cheers

I sounds like vinyl skirting. It was fixed with contact cement. It would be very easy to pull off but cleaning the glue left on the wall would be a pain.

Clean a small out of sight area with meths or other good cleaner and then paint with an oil based primer. Give it a day or so to dry and see how easy it is to scratch. It may be OK.

Most plastics just don't take to paint though.
