i have a park next door and would like to put a gate in so my kids can access it.
Just wondering how to attach a gate to a concrete post?
Have thought of drilling 3 holes through it and using coach bolts to attach a redgum post to it, and hang the gate off that.
I can't put in anouther post as i i only have a small gap between the house and planter box's to work with.

If it's one of those pre-cast conc posts with a bit of reo rod down the middle, (like a house stump) be very, very careful when drilling... hitting the rod with the bit, esp. in hammer mode, can result in a need to replace the post.

IMHO it's better to avoid drilling at all, if possible, 'cos chunks can break away even if you don't hit the rod.

I'd be more inclined to see about sourcing (or making) some "squared off" U-brackets from steel strapping to wrap around the outside of the post instead and welding the hinges directly to these brackets...
