Hi all,
I am new to this site and would appreciate some advise from some experts.
I am putting together a 2.1 m x 1.2 m red gum slab table at home.
I am currious about the best method to achieve a nice edge for the natural sides of the slab.
I have a few tools sanders, grinders etc.
Any help would be helpful.
Cheers

i use a wire brush attachment that goes on my 100mm angle grinder & it both cleans & take's off any sharp edges .
just dont keep it in the one spot to long.

would you recommend a brass wire bruss or a steel wire brush
I have a steel one that goes on the grinder but it is very stiff
cheers

Using a brass wire brush is also softer on the timber too :2tsup:

There was another Sydneysider last week asking the same Q. He was also asking about sealing the edges once scrubbed down. Check out thread "newby stuck with red gum slab
