Hi, any sandgropers know where concrete house stumps are available in Perth? Can't find them anywhere, have been told by a building materials supplier that they are not available and yet I have seen them in use.

cheers

G'day lorax. Unless you guy do it differently over there, I think you will find they are poured in situ.
Builders had re-usable boxing.

Thanx guys

Ah yes, I saw somewhere that you could pour them in-situ - forgot about that - it probably explains the ones I have seen around. I was hoping to get pre-cast ones - I rang Rocla but they don't make em. I guess everyone is still just using jarrah over here.

hmm they do things strange ways in WA LOL!

Maybe try looking in Local yellow pages under Concrete Casters. I have seen concrete stumps that appear precast in perth houses.

Casting in situ eats up the $ compared to steel stumps though. Another way to do it is to use core filled concrete blocks eg besser blocks or hanson blocks as they are now called in Qld. This is a very DIY friendly option.
