Nam's posts on concerts got me thinging of White City the Old tin shed and wrestling back in the 60's
The like of Mario, Spiro,
Kanagroo Kennedy (whom I used to see visitng Tea Gardens where he had a real estate business)
Killer Karl and his amazing Claw he used it on Don Lane put him in hospital
can never recall the name of the mad man
Once when leaving waiting for autographs some drunken DH's decided to show Spiro and Mario how to fight blood everywhere cops broke it up.
Used to go under the stands and pick up loose change and wallets packs of fags
It was an eye opener for a young fellow of 14/15 what you saw under there.

I remember my dad being quite downcast when he finally worked out that is was all scripted. But who could forget Skull Murphy and his chicken walk.

Killer Karl Kawolski.
Imagine how disapointed a young fellow felt when he saw the two sworn enemies - Mario Milano and The Killer pull into a petrol station in the same car after a fight night where earlier they had threatened to make mincemeat out of each other. They were best mates.

My Tai Chi Chuan teacher was on the circuit for a while and he told us the story of the Olympian they imported to mix it up. This guy didnt learn his codes and flattened a bunch of people in a row. He was kicked out of the country. Apparently there is film somewhere of another wrestler berating him as he was being pinned.
Remember the XRays of the skull with the thickened bit at the front? and Mario with his perpetually smashed forehead? he'd bleed putting on a hat.
Didnt know about Mario and Killer Karl, Im not surprised though,

Another time I saw Mitsu Arakowa stab a "Biro" repeatedly into the forehead of Killer Kowalski and "Blood" streaming down his face.
Later these two enemies were on the same side as the bad guys fighting Spiro and Mario who were the good guys.
Must admit that the best bits were when the fighting was outside the ring and the wrestlers got a good bashing from the "Ladies" in the audience.

The little guy may have been "Brute Bernard" - seemed like an escaped mental patient.

The Indian was Chief Little Wolf I think. His daughter did something in show bizz later in life. The chief travelled in a circus in australia for a while. :)
But what of the Australian boys, and Larry O'Day springs to mind. There was another who went about 17 stone, but was a bit on the short side, which made him a very stocky bloke. Once he got a hold on his opponent, his gruff voice would be heard yelling "ASK HIM REFF, ASK HIM NOW". :)
