The only one who could have bumbled better (or is it worse?) is Dubya - is this girl the next Republican presidential candidate?

I dont think you could ask for a better answer to a question like that. I reckon she demonstrated perfectly why some "US Americans" cant locate the US on a map :D

cheers

yep, I reckon her "coach" had said it was important when she answered to sound symapthetic to other less fortunate nations, problem was she wasn't capable of working out when to do that, she also wasn't capable of understanding the question.
None of it matters, with her looks, she'll still end up either marrying money or being paid more then I am to just smile and wave a lot:((

Some people were definitely ripped off when the old gray matter was being handed out. She must have been hiding behind the door along with this idiot (http://www.bsnews.org/articles/135).

Did she win?

Apparently she goes to Harvard University. At least she knows there are 3 countries in the world. I know only 2, Hong Kong and Chatswood.:-

:usaflag:

God bless America.

Aw don't pick on Dub-ya. We may just make Howard keep him when he visits OZ.

Yes, we are quite proud of her here in South Carolina. She represented our state so well. Sadly, she only placed fourth in the contest, proving that the judges did not recognise a clear, well-thought-out answer when they heard one. :D

I am not certain that she actually made a complete sentence in the whole time allotted. :(

I've heard/read about them, but I never thought I would see a genuine case of someone - a blonde yet - who seemed too dumb to breathe & perform any other action. OMG!!!:o :o :o :o :o

Bob/HB, you have my sympathy.

Dux of "the Dubya School of political Bumbling" with first class honours.

George would be proud. If only she had have managed to work in a mispronounciation of nuclear I feel it could have been a perfect 10.

Well done lass!!!

In her defence who looks much at maps apart from the old map of tasmania.
(someone else can explain this to our foreign readers).

Here's an explanation of her answer, poor kid!

If you don't want to see the whole thing all over again, skip to about 01.45

The compassionate (Christian, if you are that way inclined) approach would be "hate the sin, love the sinner". Instead of poking fun at the poor kid, why not exposing the public's (our) cruelty as idiotic watchers of such tripe? No audience = no program = no people making fools of themselves for our entertainment.

Hmmm. Not so sure in this case.
Sure, I feel sorry for the kid, who stumbled under pressure, but she didn't have a very big step to get over either.

No entrants= no audience = no program. I suspect it's all about gladiatorial combat really. As long as there are beauty pageants, there'll be people who care about world peace.

If you don't have enough brains to keep your ears apart, ask your Mom not to enter you!

I'd have to say that if it was one of our kids, she be a legend in the family for that effort, and I mean that in the nicest way. We've had a couple of those, but not quite so public! :D

They sure care about world peace. After all 99.99% of them would like to work in Africa or become a UN ambassador?

Don’t get me wrong I think it is a good thing. Hey, if I became Miss USA I would love to help those sick children in Africa too.:q

I have inward beauty, so don't judge me. :Q

You are scaring the proverbial out of me. It is true that the Roman Empire at its height achieved the nearest thing to "world peace" for the time and place, but gladiatorial combat surely was a symptom of the reasons for its decline. Is that the future you want for our kids?

If you don't have enough brains to keep your ears apart, ask your Mom not to enter you!

In other words: if you are stupid, do an intelligent thing. Would you care to rephrase that?:D

Those old enough might remember Laugh In and the blonde bimbo, she's had a 35yr career, Goldie Hawn.

Young lady may be a lot smarter than we are giving her credit for, look at the publicity she has generated, could also be luck,

I trust you noticed that at no time I said or implied that the girl was stupid. Only that she made a fool of herself for the entertainment of a kind of audience that worries me. That by providing that entertainment she is making a career for herself is totally consistent with my assessment of the audience.

And for this to be true does not matter whether she did it because her intelligence, Mom or the devil made her do it...

LOL, as funny as this one always is, it has been proven that it is a hoax. This lady didn't appear on any WWTBAM show, and that question was never asked. Unfortunate, coz if it was real, it would be even funnier :p
