Nino, an Italian was working his way around the world and arrived in Melbourne.
He went to a building site to look for work and the foreman decided to give him a job as a labourer.
When he asked Nino his name he gave full Italian name, Antinino De Esposito. The foreman said Geez I'll never remember that name so seeing you're Italian I'll just call you 'The Wog'. Nino had a fiery temper and was pretty upset about his nickname but the foreman explained that it wasn't intended to be derogatory but just showed where he was from. Come with me he said and I'll introduce you to the other guys and you'll see what I mean.
The first guy they met was a scotsman and the foreman said he's from Scotland so we call him Mack. The next one was a true blue Aussie and he was called Whacker but got Whack for short. There was an Irishman and he was known as Paddy and the last guy was Greek and he was known as Nick.
Nino was happy with the foremans explanation and decided to take the job.
As the day wore on they got on to Nino about the Dive that the Italian player took in the World Cup game that gave Italy the game and knocked Aussie out of the tournament.
Being a fiery character Nino couldn't contain himself for long and took a swipe at one of the guys where upon they all jumped on Nino and proceeded to beat the crap out of him.
The foreman happened to see what was happening and ran over to them and shouted out....

Nick, Mack, Paddy, Whack, leave the Wog alone!!

Read the book and many of his others also a great read

Used to get wierd looks from snickering & trying not to laugh while on the train going to work. "Gone Fishin" is another from the same series.
