Trouble is I can't get the tractor anywhere near the best log.
I'll hafta scratch me head about that coz I don't want to carry foot blocks out. :D

if it was me i'd just lift the logs up one on each sholerd and walk on out of there.
i went for a horse ride and found a couple of dead white cedar logs. pitty they are in the brisbane forest park and the rangers are geting suspicious about the logs rotting away so quickly.

Cut out dry rot in the sill of a glass wall window.
Planed and trimmed some mesmate to size to fit same. Replaced the moulding on the inside of the window as well.
Also tried to buy some spiral sash window balances. Bunnies no longer stock them. :(

told you I can wait.:cool:
I always gets me possum.:D
Had a little one in the pouch too. Trap is going back up to check for any stragglers. Christ they make a mess when bringing them down. Hawthorn colours all over the place:U . Quite stressful for them.
This is the second time the possums have rented out the roof space. This is the final eviction because this time I fixed the roof the tradesman's way. There where no fixings whatsoever along an 8mtr section of the tin where it meets the gutter. They were just lifting the tin up like a front door each night to get in. 60 tek screws later and they are going to need an angle grinder to get back into their acquired home.

It's the Duijfken (Duyfken) alright. Built in Freo, calling Cairns home for the next year or so. I may even be taking an overseas trip on her in the future.:D

Thats bloody well it... no seriously theres no avoiding it now... from here on Im callin Mick... EL BUSTARDO!! :~ I mean COMEON!!! I WANNA BE ON HER!!! :C I always seem to be in the wrong place at the wrong time :doh:
Anyways... today between sufferin with the damned wog again I took the elder boy and headed over to the inlaws old place and started bringing all their old timber over... will be doing the same thing for the next week (got 10 days to remove anything we need after that its gone times up place officially belongs to the new owners) so will be getting everything that they dont want cant fit or cant be bothered with and dragging it back here
Lots of timber cut up trunks of Banksia Jarrah Wandoo Marri that theyve been steadily over the years been burnin in the fireplace... a fair stack of planks of whatever wood it is thats been stacked up for the last 40-50 years along with leftover rolls of ss wire rigging from both the inlaws 30ft cat and Jos uncles 55ft mono a small fibreglass dinghy that was the tender for their cat but was retired out in favor of a newer model relegated to lay upside down over an old claw foot bath... and whatever else hes got tucked inside the shed that he doesnt want... may yet put claim to the old caravan and trailer if he decides he doesnt have room at the new mac mansion
So tomorrow Im gonna be flat out like a lizard drinkin... and for the next 10 days I guess :2tsup: nothing spectacular in the wood that Ive noticed yet but well one never knows whats lurking under the weathered outter covering eh? :;

Last Wednesday I went into town on me push bike, across the harbour by ferry and off into the scrub.
Headed for a WW11 wreck of a B24 Liberator that I'd seen before without my camera. I intended to do a bit of sketching but couln't concentrate because of the marsh (march) flies.
After that I spent a couple of hours trying to find a track through the scrub and onto the beach. Quite a few tracks to choose from (each one to a potential secret fishing spot) but they all ended up in a swamp that runs parallel behind the beach. Saw a few Jabiru storks and a couple of Brolgas took off in front of me once clamouring like hell. They didn't like their peace being disturbed.
I had to swing my hammock in the scrub for my siesta, instead of under a shady tree on a deserted beach. Bummer.
I just looked up the area on Google maps this morning and that swamp sticks out like dogs . I could have saved myself a lot of trouble if I'd checked it out first, but then again, there'd be no fun in that eh!
Wouldn't be dead for quids.
Cheers
Bill
PS Mick, you lucky sod, keep us posted. If I'm not on the water I like reading about it.

Yesterday I had to work for the ADFA open day (made two cadets sick with the battle PT:rolleyes:). This morning I cut some Syd Blue Gum which will go in the screen door that I am making for our new house (door frame is NG Rosewood with Mortise & Tennon Joinery), then this afternoon I played footy against ANU (we lost:(). So now the footy season is over, would have been good to play in the Grand Final but not to be this year (next weekend in the shed finishing the screen door.

meet family number two.:C These ones were pushing on the door to get out. Disappeared like a bolt of lightning. Prolly cos they spent all day in the trap. Serves em right for not getting in the trap before I went to bed.:doh:
Trap is up and re-set, third times a charm.:;
