What's that about? You can use one to draw circles, or to stop yourself walking round in circles!

Technically, it's a pair of compasses.

Technically, it's a pair of compasses.
If I have one of each you're absolutely correct!
If on the other hand I only have one compass with which to draw a circle, wouldn't it be a line? The circle drawing one is correctly either a compass or a pair.
Now that really is illogical!

I'll have to think on your logic, for a while. If I ever manage to work it out, then I'll post a suitable riposte. :laughing1:

You obviously haven't hit yourself hard enough with a ball pein hammer. If hitting yourself with a ball pein does not have the desired effect, try a cross pein hammer - you will be :o
Another strange, rather than illogical, name - bruzz also spelt buzz, which is the correct name for those chisels with the sharp bit bent at 90 in the middle, for doing the corners in mortises. (NO, not the other type, where the edge is bent at 90 the other way - when you drop it on the concrete floor - that is a 8@$^@%&)

I've hit myself pretty hard, but never hard enough to cause ball pain!
