Would like to know can I use "CSR Easy-Flow All Purpose Compound" to flush my gyprock sheets in my kitchen, before I do the tiling? The tiling will be for the splashbacks. I have read on here that you CANNOT use Top-Coat compund as it is too soft for the tile adhesive to stick too, but is the above CSR product ok ?

Many thanks in advance :?

No, tiles should not be glued to any of the soft (air dry) compounds.

The reason is that when these compounds get damp they turn back to the mud that just came out of the bucket. If this happens your tiles will fall off the wall.

Best to just use a basecoat in powder form that will set.

They are no more difficult to use, if you scrape back between coats. If you find setting time is an issue, squeeze the juice of 1/4 of a small lemon or a pinch of citric acid into the water before you mix.

This will give you more working time without damaging the make up of the product.

Cheers
