I am new to this web site and have found some helpful info and was hoping I could have some help myself!

We are currently re-stumping our entire house and will be renovating the bathroom which is in need of a make over. Our house is 1914 Federation style and as such has a small bathroom about 1.5 x 3.7

We have decided to save space and install the bath and shower in one. Does anyone know how I can get old style bath screens? I've had a look on the internet and most seem to be modern and quite plain. We are also thinking of moving the toilet in the bathroom and I'm not sure how close the toilet can be to the vanity for hygiene reasons.

Any thoughts?

There is a company in Clifton hill that sells older style hardware but I am uncertain of shower screens, I cant remember their name. Call a local cabinet maker and see if they know of this company as they may use them for period renovations.

Unless you live by yourself then I would encourage you to keep the toilet in a different room.

To paraphrase John Irving, "How much wiser to have a separate room for brushing one's teeth and moving one's bowels"

Or is it just me?

Not a good move from a resale point of view - keep it separate

I would definately have the toilet in the bathroom and 3.7 x 1.5 should easily accommodate that if you have a combined bath shower.
Suggest you post a plan of the bathroom for comment.

3.7 x 1.5 should be easy to do. I just finished ours which is 3.6 x 1.8

That is shower, bath, suite and basin. Plenty of room, and if our room was narrower, we could have went for a shorter bath.

What is the layout at the moment. Door, window, outside walls etc.
